Effective Emergency Management – Protecting Lives at Kensman Building

On Thursday, 5 December 2024, an unexpected and alarming incident occurred at the Kensman Building, located at 131 Donnison St, Gosford. An unidentified man entered the premises and deployed fire bombs, causing immediate chaos and concern among the occupants.

As smoke began to fill the building, the fire alarm system was triggered, initiating an emergency evacuation. Thanks to the swift response and well-coordinated efforts, all staff and building occupants were safely evacuated. Emergency services arrived promptly and managed to contain the fire, preventing further damage.

This successful evacuation was no accident. It was the result of effective planning and preparation. Survival Solutions, who had worked closely with the building management in the past assisted to develop and implement a comprehensive emergency management plan. This included Emergency Control Organisation (ECO) training and trial evacuations, which proved invaluable during the crisis.
